"Aspects Of..." is Alasdair Thomson's photoblog. I am a thirty year old Scot, living in London with a passion for photography which I pursue in my spare time.
In London, it is easy to get caught up in the daily slog of living to work and so I started this site in August 2007 to share my photos online with 2 aims: to receive constructive criticism on my photography and to act as a driver to get me out and about in this city and further afield to take better photos.
I hope you enjoy what you see here and would hugely appreciate any comments you have on the overall site or individual photos (comments system coming soon). You can leave feedback in the form below or email me directly. If you like any of the photos on this site then I will be happy to send the full-size picture for printing.
I shoot RAW format and carry out post-processing in Adobe Photoshop CS3. I am not afraid to enhance the original image with the amazing tools that CS3 provides us but I do agree with the philosophy of getting it right in camera. Most of the images posted here will have had exposure tweaked in Adobe Camera Raw and then some clean-up and curves to boost contrast in PS. If I have done anything beyond this then I will try and comment on it in the information for each post.
I decided to develop the site from scratch and have used Microsoft Visual Web Express to design and code an ASP.NET 2.0 site that is hosted by GoDaddy.
